SILENT SHORES
Poster I created for the contest Silent Shores, by the Montreux Jazz Festival whose 54th edition was cancelled this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The idea behind this call by the organisers was to represent the beautiful shores of Montreux, which this summer will be uncommonly silent. My response to this call consists in representing this strangely new quiet mood before the great noise that will happen when the piano reaches the surface of the water. But also, the strange connection between the origin of jazz, born in the fields of cotton where black slaves spent their broken existence, and the new environment where this music now lives, in the rich Montreux.
The process behind the project.
